School-Home Communication

Communication is the key to success in any program involving partnership.

Online Communication Site

Because we highly value communication between school and home, Cornerstone subscribes to a secured, password protected web portal for communicating with our families.  Once enrolled, each family and student is issued a unique username and password to be able to access their account at app.sycamoreeducation.com.  Users can send Pass-A-Notes to the teachers, academic progress can be tracked for students in Grades 6-12, daily news updates are available, and more!

Monthly Newsletter

During the first week of each month, we publish our newsletter called The Lion's Roar.  This newsletter is is emailed directly to CCS families and to members of the 1981 Club.

Classroom Communication

Our elementary and middle school teachers also commit to communicating regularly with families through tools such as classroom newsletters, Class Dojo, and updates to their Sycamore classroom pages online.

Parent Feedback

The Cornerstone administration encourages parent feedback and involvement. The principals invite parents to share praises, concerns and ideas.  Approximately three times per year the administration intentionally seeks this feedback through parent surveys. CCS highly values parent perspectives and parental involvement in the school!

Facebook

Cornerstone maintains a Facebook page which highlights upcoming events as well as the fun and exciting things happening in our community. Be sure to like our page and watch for notifications to stay informed!

Parent, Teachers, Friends Association

All CCS parents automatically become members of our Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) when their students enroll.  This valuable group provides community activities throughout the school year. The PTFA also raises funds to enhance our program and to help fund large school improvement projects.

Opportunities to Connect

At Cornerstone we highly value parental participation. Parents are invited to volunteer and to be involved in their child's class as much as they desire. Parents have served as coaches, substitute teachers, library workers, tutors, and chaperones. We know that together we can provide the best educational experience for each child!

Throughout the year there are also formal opportunities for parents to visit the school. Parents and extended family are specifically invited to our Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter chapels. Additionally, the elementary students host a Grandparent's Day each fall, and the PTFA hosts a fall Harvest Celebration as well as a spring family picnic.
