Outstanding Scholars Recognized

Congratulations to senior Ashley Schmid who has been named a Commended Student in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program.  A Letter of Commendation from Cornerstone and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, was presented to Ashley, this scholastically talented senior, during a recent chapel by Mrs. Snyder.

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Although they will not continue in the 2017 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top 5% of more than 1.6 million students who entered the 2017 competition by taking the 2015 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).

Congratulations, also, to Isaac Rivera who has been selected as a National Hispanic Scholar through the National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP).  This recognition is awarded to students who scored in the top 2.5% among Hispanic and Latino PSAT/NMSQT test takers in our region.

We are proud of Ashley and Isaac for these outstanding achievements!
