CCS High School Students Give Back

Recently many of our high school students spent two days "giving back" to our local community while our basketball teams attended a tournament.  This entire effort was coordinated by CCS senior, Lauren Gerhard, as a part of the Pathway to Christian Leadership Program.  Lauren arranged for students to serve at a variety of locations in the area. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world.

Students served by in the following ways:

  • Assisting with the Manchester Fire Department's smoke detector distribution program
  • Visiting homes for the elderly and leading activities and a game of BINGO
  • Knitting and crocheting squares to be donated and used to create blankets for families in need
  • Sorting donated clothing at a local shelter and a woman's home
  • Packaging produce at Food Share
  • Blessing downtown businesses with acts of kindness
  • Baking cookies and distributing them to the elderly and those in need of a blessing
  • Cleaning the kitchen at several churches where meals are served to the hungry
  • Assisting CCS teachers with clerical tasks and student activities
  • Cleaning stables at a therapeutic riding program that serves children with special needs
