As you know, Cornerstone is K-12 accredited by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Our intention, back in June 2012, was to seek dual accreditation with one of the partner organizations with which ACSI has worked. As we explored the various options, we were committed to finding an organization that would allow us to remain focused on our commitment to teaching from a biblical, Christian worldview.
After a great deal of research and several conversations with Dr. John Storey, the Northeast Regional Director of ACSI, we learned that dual accreditation with the Middle States Association—Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS) would help us meet our goals. In April 2015, we submitted our application and supporting documentation to MSA-CESS.
We are pleased to announce that we received official notification of our accreditation by MSA-CESS as of June 2015. Our current accreditation, therefore, with ACSI and MSA-CESS will expire in June 2018. That means we will begin our official self-study period in the fall of 2016 in order to be ready for a fall of 2017 visit from the accreditation team. We’ll keep you posted towards the end of this school year how your help will be needed during our year of self-study!
