Harvesting God's Promises

Our students in Grade 5 wrote about God’s promises for a special bulletin board. Read what a few students had to say!

Hebrews 13:5b -- “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.”

This is important to me because I know that God is always there for me, and He will never leave me. Even if I lose my friends, He will stay with me. Even if I lose my family, God will be with me. Sometimes, I feel like no one understands me and I am totally alone, but God is with me and He does get me. I am really grateful for that and hope other people will understand that too.

Psalm 32:7 --“You are a hiding place for me. You preserve me from trouble. You surround me with shouts of deliverance.”

I chose this verse because it makes me feel protected when I am feeling sad, afraid, or alone. It also helps when I am hurt. When I am wounded I know He will heal me. He will always be there when I need Him.

— Luke

1 Corinthians 10:13 -- “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

God helps me get out of my temptation. For example, when my mom said, “Don’t eat the brownies, they’re for dessert,” and I really wanted those brownies, God reminded me to eat another food instead.

Isaiah 53:6 -- “We all like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

This verse touches my heart because it is all true. All of us have turned away from God at least once in our lives. This verse is special to me because it reminds me that He died for me. I just love the thought of that!
