The fourth grade recently went on our annual field trip to the Big E. We saw animals getting ready for show and sheep that had just been sheared. Two women showed us how sheep’s wool is made into yarn and how the yarn is woven into a rug or scarf. Some of the students even worked on one of the looms. We saw baby pigs and an incubator filled with eggs and newly hatched chicks. During our visit to the State Houses, we saw lots of products produced in each state. Everyone collected tons of information about Connecticut to use later in our State Notebooks. Of course, we also enjoyed a lot of tasty fair food. The weather was gorgeous, and everyone had a great time!
