We have been busily working on our year of self-study in preparation to submit our application for renewed dual accreditation with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Middle States Association (MSA). A significant component of our application for renewal, which takes place every 7 years, is the completion of 8 in-depth analyses of specific components of our program. Each of these 8 components is represented by an accreditation standard as follows: Philosophy & Foundations; Governance & Executive Leadership; Home & Community Relations & Student Services; Personnel; Instruction Program & Resources; Student Care; Character, Values & Spiritual Formation of Students; and Continuous School Improvement Planning (CSIP).
Each standard review team has been composed of various representative members of our school: teachers, staff, board members, parents, students, and administration. Since August, we have completed 4 of the 7 analyses that must be done before the final CSIP can be written (in June). The study of these last 3 standards is well underway!
Once we have carefully self-evaluated our performance in the first 7 specific areas, we will begin constructing our Continuous School Improvement Plan (CSIP). The CSIP document will become our guide as we intentionally plan for continue growth and excellence into the next 7 years of Cornerstone’s mission-centered work.
Thank you to the many hands that have already been involved in this process, and be on the lookout for how you can become involved in the next several months!
