Blessed to Be A Blessing

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and many of us plan to enjoy a big, delicious meal with our families.  During this time we also reflect on the things for which we are thankful—and we are truly blessed!  We are blessed to have food to eat, and we are blessed to be a part of a private Christian school.  We are blessed in so many ways!  This is also a time when many of us share some of those blessings with others. Many families share their blessings through donations to their church, food pantries, and other local organizations.

If you are looking for an opportunity to share, one has landed right on our doorstep!  In recent years members of the Manchester Church of the Nazarene (MCN), along with a few CCS students, have volunteered at a local elementary school. Pastor Garry Light, MCN Associate Pastor and CCS Chaplain, was contacted this week by the school because they have had 26 additional school families request assistance with their Thanksgiving meals. MCN has already committed to providing Thanksgiving meals for several families and has now agreed to provide up to 10 additional meals. However, that leaves 16 families that are still seeking help.

If you would like to join in helping to provide these meals by making a financial contribution, please contact Pastor Garry at or send your donation to the school office. You can also contribute by purchasing a Stop & Shop Scrip card at the elementary office or through our next round of orders and donating that card.

Pastor Garry will make sure that your donation is used to help purchase items to provide these families with Thanksgiving meals.
