In Lower Elementary, from Kindergarten to 2nd grade, and Upper Elementary, from 3rd to 5th grade, we offer a challenging and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
Focused on transition, our 6th - 8th grade curriculum is built to support students as they prepare for more independence.
With a goal to identify God’s calling on their lives, 9th - 12th grade students prepare to excel beyond our walls.
The main focus of the library is on fiction and nonfiction books for students through 5th grade. However, the library includes books of interest through 8th grade.
Each week, elementary students visit the library for a literature lesson and a chance to check out books. The upper elementary students and middle school students also learn research skills in the library as they prepare for their papers, such as the science fair and benchmark writing assignments.
Field trips to the local library and to our local community college library serve to introduce the students to these valuable resources.
“One of my greatest pleasures in teaching is to share great literature with students. It is my intention and prayer to help our students become life-long readers whose love of reading will then transfer to a love of the greatest book of all - God’s Word!”
— Nancy Whitney, CCS Librarian
“In the art classes at The Cornerstone Christian School, the students will learn about different art movements, techniques and mediums and will be given the ability to create their own masterpieces. I love teaching Art most importantly because the first people on record to have the infilling of the Holy Spirit were artisans and craftsmen who were to work on the Tabernacle in Exodus. With Christ’s anointing touch, we can create art that glorifies Him and shines light into a dark world. ”
— Jane Loftus, Former CCS Art Teacher
We provide Physical Education classes for students in Pre-K through 12th grade. Students in Pre-K through 8th grade receive instruction twice a week each year. High school students may elect to take P.E. classes twice a week to meet the school's graduation requirements.
