Elementary Library

The main focus of the elementary library is on providing fiction and nonfiction books for students through Grade 5. However, the library includes books of interest for students through Grade 8.

Each week, elementary students visit the library for a literature lesson and a chance to check out books. The upper elementary students also learn research skills in the library as they prepare for benchmark writing assignments.

Field trips to the local library and to our local community college library serve to introduce the students to these valuable resources.

“One of my greatest pleasures in teaching is to share great literature with students. It is my intention and prayer to help our students become life-long readers whose love of reading will then transfer to a love of the greatest book of all - God’s Word!”

— Nancy Whitney, CCS Librarian

Fine Arts

In the art classes at The Cornerstone Christian School, the students will learn about different art movements, techniques, and mediums; and they will be given the ability to create their own masterpieces. I love teaching Art most importantly because the first people on record to have the infilling of the Holy Spirit were artisans and craftsmen who were to work on the Tabernacle in Exodus. With Christ’s anointing touch, we can create art that glorifies Him and shines light into a dark world.

Physical Education

We provide Physical Education (P.E.) classes for students in Pre-K through Grade 12. Students in Pre-K through Grade 8 receive instruction twice a week each year. High school students take P.E. classes (for a minimum of two years during high school) to meet the school's graduation requirements.
