Admissions Process
Step 1
All parents seeking enrollment for their students at The Cornerstone Christian School are encouraged to make an appointment to visit with the school's Principal at any time during the year or to attend an open house. Questions are enthusiastically encouraged, and opportunities to visit our classrooms are available. Those who are unable to visit the school directly may also ask to receive a general information packet that can be mailed upon request.
Step 2
An enrollment packet must be completed once the parents have decided they would like to further pursue a partnership with the school. Once the application has been fully completed, an appointment will be made to administer an entrance exam or screening session to assess the student's general abilities.
Step 3
The Admissions Team will then review the application and the student's performance on the assessment. The Admissions Team meets once every two weeks. If additional information is needed, a request will made to the family by the Principal in preparation for the family interview.
Step 4
A family interview will be set up with the Principal to review the family's application and the student's performance on the assessment.
Step 5
Formal response letters regarding applications for enrollment are mailed to families after their interview with the Principal. All new students (entering Kindergarten through Grade 12) who are accepted into the program are automatically placed on "New Student Probation." This probationary status runs through the first quarter of the school year and allows the school to assess the appropriateness of a student's placement. The Admissions Team will review the probationary reports and determine to either continue or discontinue the probationary status on an individual basis. The team may also make recommendations about placement and/or continued enrollment.
Non-Discrimination Policy
The Cornerstone Christian School admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies or admission policies.
Ordering Textbooks for Grades 6-12
Our program requires students in Grades 6-12 to order their own textbooks. Cornerstone partners with Follett, an online book ordering service. Through this website, families will find the ISBN #'s for all the books needed for each grade level and course. Follett provides buy-back services to families as well as a rental program. Books can also be purchased new or used, depending upon availability. For more information, please contact the school office.
